Welcome to Root Love – a celebration of heritage, health, wellbeing and a sprinkle of Black Girl Magic. Founded by Charity Faye, our story is a tapestry woven from the threads of ancestral wisdom and the spirit of modern self-care.
Our Journey:
Charity's journey began with a youthful dream of becoming a pediatrician, driven by a deep desire to heal and nurture. However, as she grew, her aspirations evolved towards a more holistic approach to wellness. This transformation started over ten years ago in her own kitchen, where she began creating body butters. Initially meant for her personal use and then shared with family and friends, each batch was crafted with love and care. Her primary mission was to eliminate harsh chemicals from her skincare routine and incorporate the healing powers of plant medicine into her daily life. Achieving this goal meant embracing the learning of plant medicine and passing this knowledge to her children, fostering a lifestyle of health and wholeness. Root Love emerged as a response to this calling, a venture to reconnect with ancestral wisdom and reclaim our birthright to natural healing and wholeness.
Our Mission:
At Root Love, we demystify herbalism, making it accessible and applicable to everyday life. Our philosophy is simple: to reclaim kitchens as sanctuaries of healing and homes as sacred places of rest and rejuvenation. We believe in the power plant medicine into daily routines, whether through our enriching body butters, herbal teas, or handcrafted seasonal remedies. Root Love pays homage to the lineage of formidable women who inspired Charity's path – Grandmothers Martha Hurndal, Elizabeth Watson, Adeline White, Carol Jean Trigg, Rosie Jones, and Jimmie Lee Adams. Dear Aunts Rosie Joyce and Irma Jean White. Their wisdom, resilience, and nurturing spirits are the heartbeat of our brand. Root Love is a journey back to ourselves, guided by the loving hands of our ancestors.
